With Christmas looming, and many fairy lights being readied for draping another tree - or for some enthusiasts. whole houses - I noticed how black it was outside, despite my clock's face barely having registered four...
'Let there be light in our darkness' prompted the Muse who sits never far from my shoulder. Instead of settling to watch iPlayer, I registered the prompt and turned instead to Blogland...
But first, I flicked the switch near my glass-panelled front door, to light the path for a 'delayed delivery', which an email notification had just pinged into my awareness.
Untold grateful thanks go out to all the hardworking, delivery 'Elves', who struggle through the darkness of a bleak, often wet and windy world, as they cope with the most mercenary aspect of the Winter Solstice Festivities - the giving of gifts.
Shopping online is a boon for those whose lives make it hard for them to be out and about on foot, so let's celebrate the Elves - including those packing, posting and delivering items (from the sublime to the ridiculous) to eager recipients.
At least I have been able to shed a puddle of light before my doorstep, and maybe an illuminating beam of friendship, worldwide, as I wish all Blogpals, past and present, new or old, a safe and healthy winter holiday.

Curiosity Cats can leave a whisker here...but not before noting, please, that I choose to have an award free, tag free, meme free blog. But by all means, talk to me by email - I love to 'chat'...
