Internalisation

The artist's model sat as though entranced by some secret known only to herself, calm and detached from the real world; an ideal subject for any painter.
Faced with a blank, white canvas, palette and brushes poised for action, he sensed this air of secrecy, and knew he must be the one to capture it in the portrait already taking shape in his mind's eye.
As the image began to emerge, the very air thrummed with a mysterious energy, joining the painter with his subject in a dance of inspirational delight. A masterpiece was about to be born...

Thanks to Carrie at the Sunday Muse for another image destined to spark a Blogger's imagination. :-)

    1. I have to apologise for the odd timeline which makes me appear over eager to join in so quickly. Perhaps Saturday mornings are when my creative urge peaks?

  3. I am in love with your painter, and jealous of her as well. Try as I may, even classes, but I am hopelessly stuck at the stick man stage.
Yours here is smooth, just right in length to cover what was needed to say, my focus is on the action and implied relationship between artist and subject.
My take on the photo sideways is a flooded city, NYC, by Climate Change water levels, complete with a neat reflection in the calmed waters. Thanks for your suggestion of more on a different theme.

    1. I agree, the artist and subject need a connection beyond the physical, if the portrait is to wow future viewers. Think of that famous Mona Lisa... :-)

  4. ...and when it is done, after hours and days of toil sweat and tears, the artist's sig other will look at it and say it's "nice."

    1. Hehehe- that is often the fate of aspiring artists the world over. But I'm sure my artist in this case, would be happy if the result pleased him, and the rest of the world can go hang! LOL

    1. And here's me, thinking I'd described anything but the physical... which just underlines the magic of ' the eye of the beholder'...

  8. Intriguing...the artist extracting an unseen story and drawing in the marvelous at the same time.

    1. Don't all artists paint the unseen, in a way, because they add something a photograph doesn't? Food for thought...

  10. Yes, a unique response to the challenge. Love the sparks of inspiration filling the air as subject and artist anticipate what the paintbrushes will speak.
