Something is germinating, today. After discovering the poems that Elizabeth Crawford had written for April's 'Poem a Day' at Writer's Island, I contacted her, and we've been trying to work out a way of collaborating. Her words and my pictures, or vice versa. So here is the first of her words written for my illustration. The basic idea could lead anywhere - this is merely the first step.
White barked tree trunk
waves aloft deep blue essence.
Lavender perfume spills
across spring landscape.
I decided to post this on Napple Notes, and Alias Jinksy, to see which, if either, blog caught people's ttention. With the lavender colour spilling over in my mind this morning, I created this flight of fancy too.
Collaborating could be very satisfying. I hope it works for you both. Certainly this first result is pleasing - romantic and redolent of spring.
ReplyDeleteWell, I feel all relaxed and calm now. Must be all that lavender :-)
ReplyDeleteThey are both beautiful in their own way.
ReplyDeleteBravo, on both counts!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like fun and this first one was good !
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. It will be fun to watch this develop!
ReplyDeletePen, are these pictures Photoshop or painted? They are certainly interesting. The tree scene looks like a modernist painting - Dave
ReplyDeleteDave- The tree I drew using the Paint program in Windows XP2. The lavender extravaganza started life as a photo - I think of a butterfly? - and the Arcsoft Photo Studio 6 software I use let me transform its colours and shapes into the pic on this post.
ReplyDeleteFlight of fancy indeed Jinksy - as you say - who knows where on earth it will all lead.
ReplyDeleteThis is a glorious collaboration, Ladies! You go, and I'll keep checking it out. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's the top one's caught my imagination. The image first, I have to say, although the words exactly fit it.
ReplyDeleteCollaberation may be a new venture in blogging--never thought about it. Maybe like meme, in one sense. A subbect is selected, but one writes the text, one illustrates.......Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy reading and looking at collaborative pieces - it's interesting to see how people respond to each other's work
ReplyDeleteWe were thinking more along the lines of everyone producing a poem or an illustration, on any subject, and waiting to see what that inspired amongst other writers/artists. That way, creativity and inspiration are the main objects of the exercise.
ReplyDeleteAn amethyst tree above, amethyst crystals below :-) Very pretty. Jo
ReplyDeleteJinksy, Very beautiful.
ReplyDeletePamela
This teamwork project looks interesting - I'll try to stay in touch.
