Oh Jinksy, I loved this photo. That is a really tall horse. Just an observation. I have had to change my addy for security reasons. Wanted you let you know where I am now. Come over and follow if you choose. It is like starting over. QMM
Jinksy...You know, that when you asked about not commenting on the horse, you were opening the barn door, right?? :))) Sooo funny to read the comments about 'not commenting' on the horse. A lovely photo......and one to be treasured. How have you been, my friend? Smiles from Jackie
The horse got to be in the tent. That's not a wise crack. Are the men in the military? I only saw my grandfather on my mother's side twice and he died when I was very young. I don't remember him. My paternal grandfather died when I was about 7. This is a great photo, Jinksy. Do you have info on it?
Well, I'd like to know the before and after of the shot. Where was this taken? Why was the horse in the tent? What was your grandfather's profession? Please tell us more! Love the photo, by the way.
A fun photo! Dapper looking guys. And a huge horse indeed. Your grandfather and I have something in common ;-) And it's not keeping our horse in a tent. Although I would if necessary. I'm off to ride my horse now. Glad the riding fashion has changed since then.
Curiosity Cats can leave a whisker here...but not before noting, please, that I choose to have an award free, tag free, meme free blog. But by all means, talk to me by email - I love to 'chat'...
What a great photo, the horse is just magnificent!
ReplyDeleteI love these moments caught in time Jinksy - and no wisecrack about the horse (mainly because I can't think of one.)
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued. Do you happen to know where it was taken?
ReplyDeleteNo wise cracks about the horse, although I was tempted ask, 'why the long face?'
The tent with the horse looks stable enough . . . (I'll get me coat!)
ReplyDeletelove this old pictures - and yeah - wondering why they put the horse inside the tent... (hope that was no wise crack...)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely saturday!
I see nothing wrong with sleeping with a horse..... great old photo.

ReplyDeletewonderful photo, jinksy! and why in the world would any of us ever say a thing about a horse being in a tent???
ReplyDeleteI love anyone who would let the horse sleep in the tent. I wonder what the story is.
ReplyDeleteI have to laugh, and can't resist a little jib. Who is sleeping where, The horse has the tent.

Old photographs are so interesting. The chap on the left intrigues me. He looks as if he's trying to develop a wasp waist!
ReplyDeleteYour Bro and I think that this photo may have been taken in Ladysmith in South Africa. Where do you think it was?

I wondered about the horse and if this were a camping/hunting outing somewhere or if they were soldiers???Interesting photo for sure!
ReplyDeleteThis would be a fabulous photo even if it didn't include a family member. I would love to know more about the setting too.
