My cousin Betty is the lady with the navy and white hat, which suddenly proved bothersome. The large bow adorning the back of it got entangled with the collar of her suit, and shot the whole thing askew over her silky soft hair. I caught the moment when her hand had just set it to rights, but it was only later that I realised I'd included my husband's mammoth yawn in the photo as well!
In fact the whole composition speaks volumes, from the small, grumbly boy in the foreground being firmly kept from mischief by an elderly retainer, to the dangling camera case of another amateur photographer in the lower right hand corner.
But I can't help chuckling further at what looks like a loo seat hanging on the church wall in the top left segment, nor the short lady below it who appears to be wearing either a lamp shade, or a mob cap on her head! Don't weddings bring out the best in people?
I hope my choice of Sepia Saturday snapshot will give you all a grin as big as mine when I unearthed it this morning...
Oh absolutely a great chuckle...a good morning opener! The gentleman with open mouth looks very intent on saying something...curious to know what! I can't believe on Saturday morning, I posted a 5 am our time and already there were 20 posts! Wow! Alan sure has a bunch of great followers who get their posts in early! This was a nice treat...who doesn't love weddings right?!

I always know I'll find something amusing and interesting over here. This is such a fun photo. I like the little boy's scrunched face the best. The yawn is precious though too.

I wonder if all those features would have been noticed if they hadn't been photographed?

it captured my attention right away, even before i started reading your text. i love this pic!! the indifferent crowd in the back, the fashion of those days, (who wears mink nowadays???) and the boy is priceless. this is a KEEPER!!

Great choice for Sepia andreally funny. Weddings I have learned will always have sometihg go wrong, and the Bride/Groom, just as well enjoy and laugh about it.

ReplyDeleteIt's a great photograph and you are right such candid shots are almost always more interesting than the carefully posed ones. As for weddings : that great comedian Al Read used to have an expression that summed them all up, it was simply "Enough was said at our Edie's wedding"
