Short, But Not Necessarily Sweet

A Reflection

The one in the glass is a stranger.
Who could they be? Should I know?
Possibly. There is a danger
the face is nobody but me!

  1. Sometimes I do wonder...how well does one really know ones-self? Still pondering that...

  3. There are some days that the reflection in the mirror is definitely a stranger - I still get a shock some mornings when I am not a 6ft tall supermodel!

  5. Some/most days, when I'm looking in the mirror, a total stranger stares back at me. Who IS that old woman with the puffy eyes and all those wrinkles? I take off my glasses and look again. Oh, heck; that doesn't help. She's still there, and now she's all blurry, too!

  6. If the mirror is strange, try using a laptop and turn the webcam on--who is that on the screen. Quick! turn that @#!$%^&* off!

Built-in webcams are not high on my list of needed features when it is aimed at me.

  10. Better to look into the glass in your hand, particularly, if it's half full, than into the glass on the wall, if you' re after knowing who you are.

  12. So true. I still see myself, inside of my head, as I was when I was 17 or 18. Every time I see my reflection, I wish to ask the older man who is looking back at me, "Who are you? What have you done with Jim?"
