A Reflection
The one in the glass is a stranger.
Who could they be? Should I know?
Possibly. There is a danger
the face is nobody but me!

Sometimes I do wonder...how well does one really know ones-self? Still pondering that...
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly who I see too...looking back at me!
ReplyDeleteThere are some days that the reflection in the mirror is definitely a stranger - I still get a shock some mornings when I am not a 6ft tall supermodel!
ReplyDeleteIt can be a reality check. Where's my hair?
ReplyDeleteSome/most days, when I'm looking in the mirror, a total stranger stares back at me. Who IS that old woman with the puffy eyes and all those wrinkles? I take off my glasses and look again. Oh, heck; that doesn't help. She's still there, and now she's all blurry, too!
ReplyDeleteIf the mirror is strange, try using a laptop and turn the webcam on--who is that on the screen. Quick! turn that @#!$%^&* off!
ReplyDeleteBuilt-in webcams are not high on my list of needed features when it is aimed at me.
Must be an Alzheimer's person.
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly how I fell when I look in the mirror sometimes. "Who the hell am I?
ReplyDeleteI try not to look in the mirror... :))
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Jackie
Better to look into the glass in your hand, particularly, if it's half full, than into the glass on the wall, if you' re after knowing who you are.
ReplyDeleteFriko - That's quite a philosophy! :)
ReplyDeleteSo true. I still see myself, inside of my head, as I was when I was 17 or 18. Every time I see my reflection, I wish to ask the older man who is looking back at me, "Who are you? What have you done with Jim?"
