The last painting must have been done very early on in his drawing career - probably when he was still at school - but it's clear to see the dawning of the artist in his soul!
These are the latest Sepia Saturday offerings from me and mine.

Havent really got a clue who they are but the top one could be Jackie Milburn - only because I think he had a fine head of black hair and wore a Newcastle shirt.
ReplyDeleteNice drawings and a lovely memory no doubt.
Your Dad's drawings show a wonderful talent that has passed on to you...and these pictures are a wonderful momento to have for future generations!
ReplyDeleteWhat fabulous pictures. I'm not a football fan, but I am a fan of these pics :O)
ReplyDeleteEven though I don't know anything about football (either US or UK type), I love these pics!
ReplyDeleteI'm giggling now! what great poses those footballers made..so no difference than today then?!
ReplyDeleteI love your Dad's drawings. Keep 'em coming!
ReplyDeleteDear Pen,
ReplyDeletethose drawings are marvellous! Not being in for football very much (even mixing the terms with soccer!) of course I cannot recognise whom he draw - but it is finely done! The only football team I look for is Hamburg's "St Pauli" - very rough guys, very tough and from the wrong side of the town:-)
Do you have a lot of drawings from your Dad?
These are incredible. I love his distinctive drawing style-- and they're even cooler when you blow them up to see the detail!
ReplyDeleteI love the third chap's chest . Very splendid !
ReplyDeleteyour dad's drawings are wonderful, how very special that you have them.
ReplyDeleteI have no knowledge of football but I can appreciate your dad's talent. Thanks for sharing the drawings with us.
ReplyDeleteI'm beginning to sense that he drew quite a lot. When you first started sharing his drawings I had the impression from what you said that there were a "few." So glad there are many!
while i prefer canadian and american football, i also enjoy this game but i have no knowledge of its history. these are fun drawings. nice that you've preserved them.
