Hideaway
Percy Pig liked to hide in a wallow
with more mud than a Hippo could swallow,
for he knew he'd be free
from both you and from and me,
for none but the bravest would follow.

ReplyDeleteI perceive that you are entering a new phase in your poetry career. Here's hoping it will pass without incident.
ReplyDeleteOr perhaps you'll be the new Dr. Seuss.
I should think Percy is pretty safe at the moment with Swine flu around as well as all that mud, glorious mud.
ReplyDeleteDelightful! Love Percy! Love your Poetry! ~Janine XO

Jinksy, congratulations on featuring in David's sunday roast. Not literally but literary of course. Great interview, very you! And finally we know the history of 'napple notes'.
ReplyDeleteHave a great sunday sweet Jinksy. Hope you get lots of fanmail ;-)
Hi Jinsky Just read David's Sunday Roast of napple notes. Glad I did! This is a real fun poem or limerick; truly brightened up my day! I'll explore more later :)
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling you might follow Percy Pig into the wallow. Just so you'd have another verse to write!
ReplyDeleteI always wondered what napple meant... I always thought it was some weird English slang!
ReplyDeleteKids books beckon.
ReplyDeleteHey, Congrats! I saw you 'roast' at Authorblog! :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on Sunday Roast! Good to learn more about you from David's Blog.
ReplyDeleteFor a long time I read *Nappie Notes* instead of *Napple* !
Love your little rhymes.
What a fun rhyme. I love pigs, they had some piglets at the zoo, they are so cute with their wiggly tails! And they just love the mud.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your interview too. Oft wondered what Napple Notes meant!
That would make a lovely poem with a nice illustration in a children's book! Maybe we all need to band together to get published as some sort of a collective? :)
