And I'm going to post another double spread from Dad's album. He served aboard an HMS Fowey at one point in his career, and I think the drawing probably represents an earlier sailing ship of the same name.
After a week of minimal posting from me, it's good to have a ready made one waiting in the wings, thanks to the unsung talent of my nautical Pa - a perfect offereing for Sepia Saturday.
Oh, those tall sailing ships still carry a lot of Romance and intrigue.
ReplyDeleteOh wonderful. Talent sure does run through your genes.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great picture.
ReplyDeleteI have never been on a sailboat. Spent a lot of my time in my life on the water but never a sailboat. That is a beautiful picture Jinksy.

This is a beautiful drawing.....I don't think I could spend weeks on a ship crossing the Atlantic but then it was a different time and I wouldn't of had a choice.....:-) Hugs
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous drawing and the ship is very impressive. I wonder just what it would have been like to have lived and worked on it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful drawing. Done by your father or a friend in his album? I have an album owned by Scottish grandmother will wonderful drawings and paintings done by friends and relatives. Try to imagine anyone doing that these days.
