Last year I noticed one or two blossoms, but now it has truly understood its potential!. I zoomed in on one of its many flower heads as a test for my new, simple little Canon A800. Which passed with flying colours, I think you'll agree...
Seems as though this plant is a great reminder to us all, never to stop striving to reach our full potential, however long it may take. Plus it rewarded my eternal hope and faith that one day it would blossom just as I'd imagined! ♥
Susannah's I saw Sunday will no doubt have more delights to brighten this wet day.

Soon, the humming-bird hawkmoth will find it. We had a visit last week from her (all the way from Africa) on the valerian.

Honeysuckle is one of my favourites, for the perfume and for the insects it attracts. Yours is splendiferous, and I congratulate you for your persistance. We left one at our old house that started in a similar way, and finished by overwhelming a pergola and the adjacent shed! You may be cutting it back soon!

ReplyDeleteThat's so interesting, because I planted one of these a few years ago and it immediately took off and threatened to eat the house. And then there are other things i can't grow at all. Go figure.
ReplyDeleteInteresting Pen because we planted one about five years ago and it has been nearly dead, then suddenly this year it has put on a lot of growth and actually flowered. Maybe it heard us discussing whether or not to dig it up.
