Saturday Soup

Is on the menu here today, instead of at my place. That way, I shall have no washing up to do. Oh, and while I'm writing on the Menu Blackboard, and have a stick of chalk in my hand, I just wanted to tell you all that I had a call from the hospital yesterday afternoon, and all polyps were OK. I won't need a repeat performance for three years. Aren't you glad you won't have to read through another blow by blow account of the whole process for a very long time?! Hehehe!

  13. I've lost count as to how many colonoscopies I have had. Now Abe never had one until about two years ago. Doctor kept telling him when you hit 50 you should have your first one. But he was 73 before it finally happened.

My first one, which actually they aren't that bad of a procedure, it's getting prepared for it that's a real pain in the butt, they found a polyp the size of a golf ball. They removed it, sent me home. I asked if I could go to a family reunion the next day, they said yes, but eat soft foods. Mine was done on a Saturday after having a flexible sig done in my family doctor's office. Family doctor knew something was in there, but his tools could only go so far. So he got me in quickly to see the specialist. I had eaten very little between the two examines. In fact the specialist told my husband I certainly had followed directions correctly which made his job a lot easier.

I just had one about a year ago, an they told me I can wait three years this time, unless I have some sort of a problem.

Good luck with your next one. Have a great week-end.

  19. Jinksy...(that deleted comment above was my fault...this keyboard can't spell! :)) ) My apologies.
I am glad that your polyps were all OK.
My colonoscopy came back clear, and I have to get my colonoscopies every 10 years. Jack and I both had our colonoscopies 3 years ago. Jack's report wasn't as good as the doctor wanted it to be...several polyps...and one was very large..even though no malignancy was found in any of them. However, Jack's brother died from colon cancer at the age of 61, so Jack has to have one every 3 years...and this month is THE month for him to get his. (He got the letter from the doctor on Friday.) He is not looking forward to it. The prep is worse than the procedure. If you would remember him in your prayers, it would be so much appreciated.
Again, I am thankful to God that your colonoscopy turned out fine. I can't stress enough how much a colonoscopy can save a life.
I'm sooooo glad that you got a great report!!! Smiles all over my face for you!!!
Have a lovely weekend. Hugs and love to you from Jackie.

  20. The best news is a good health report!!!

Is the return interval because of the polyp history?

My colonoscopy was clear and return is 10 years. My husband had one polyp, but since it was benign, he also does not return for 10 years.

  21. *laughing!I* -- GMR says I'm the strongest woman he's ever known....don't know about that, but I do know that I don't whine or complain to him when I'm hurting or whatever, however, when it was time for the colonoscopy I WHINED AND WHINED AND WHINED! I DID NOT want to drink that stuff - OMG - it was awful -- and I whined and whined -- but by time we did the actual colonoscopy, I was shrugging it off - no big deal *laugh*

    I don't have to return for 10 years...yayyYY!

  23. Hmmm . . . Jinks . . you had the wrong kind of 'oscopy. Can't think of a single word that rhymes with "polyp" (Bet she can, folks! Where's me tin hat!)

  24. Doc- Alchoholic!!! (Close as I could get on the spur of the moment)

  25. Maybe I don't really want an answer to this one, Doc...

    Which kind 'oscopy
    d'you recommend?
    As you're a doctor
    and I hope a friend,
    can you think of another
    for jinksy's back end?!

  26. Sorry - speed overtook typing again. Please
amend the above first line to read "Which type of 'oscopy" and for the sake of decency, it's probably best ifyou don't actually answer the question!

  27. I once had a parrot called "Polyp"
He (I think it was he) could recite the whole of
    "Polyp put the kettle on"

But that doesn't help much, does it?

  28. Not a lot, Doc, not a lot - but if it makes you feel better...?!
