Flight Of Fancy

Moondust

From her tower, the Fairy flew
to catch some early morning dew,
before the moon in all her glory
had time to tell a sunnier story,
as the day began to break,
and the world became awake.

Monday's Child supplied the original 1930's illustration by Ann Anderson -  thanks bkm! I enjoyed waving my magic wand over the picture...

  3. You've put a gentle spin on the illustration. While I think it's lovely, it's also sort of spooky; that 'fairy' has bat wings.

  4. Great poem to go with a great picture. Synergy of a sort. There's probably a better word, but that's all I've got right now.

  8. This takes me back to childhood. I would have been delighted with this artwork (still am.) I longed for there to be fairies so much that it almost hurt.
