The Pace Of Modern Living

I’ve heard of paper roses –
I’ve even made a few –
But really, paper kisses?
What is a girl to do?

‘Hugs and kisses’
runs the line,
‘Will write again,
another time.'

  1. Disappointing illusion it is.

  2. sometimes - time is on a steep slope downwards - sometimes it's stopped. i'd see the goodness in this, and that is that the person thought of me long enough to send that kind thought and then i'd think of my fortune . . . that they'll write again!! have a lovely day. steven

  3. I guess cyber kisses are out of the question..
    You do make me smile.
Have a delightful weekend, my friend.

  4. Too bad that life seems to move at such a fast pace we can't send hugs and kisses that are real. I love HUGS and Kisses. I read somewhere that it takes 10 hugs a day to maintain sanity ... that would be real hugs. :D :D :D I very much enjoy smiling with you!

  5. paper kisses just won't do! but a cute little poem nonetheless.

  6. It is a different way to think about it.

  7. What a cute ditty. You do bring sunshine with every line, dear Jinksy.

  8. Hello Jinksy,

Have you been listening to Donny Osmond again?! Don't forget there are candy kisses and meringue kisses too. All just as sweet!

  9. derrrick, that is marie osmond my neighbor and not donny who lives in provo

  10. Personally I like the virtual hugs and kisses people are kind enough to send.
It's the thought that counts isn't it?

I used to own a little giftshop and had an admirer who visited often and brought me paper roses he'd made himself. And paper boats. And he used to recite poems. In French sometimes.
    Very romantic.
He was about 80 I think, hehe.

Virtual hugs and kisses are far less exhausting and overpowering than live paper roses can be ;-)

    Hugs xx

  11. Kisses are kisses no matter what kind!
    Loved that little ditty!

    Nuts in May

  12. Paper kisses never did a thing for me so I will wait for your "another time". Missed you my friend.......:-) hugs

  13. When I went to England the first time I was 13 years old, it was Christmas. I received cards there with xxxx. I did not know what this meant and was told they were kisses on the paper. I loved it! Whenever I get xxx on a letter I am so happy. But it does not happen much anymore as I don’t get many letters or cards, just emails. Paper kisses are sweet and show people with a good heart.

  14. Hey, all you comment droppers . . . you think she's maybe gettin' at us, sort of . . collectively?

  15. Not in the least Doc – it was an email from my Bro that sparked the idea, and the whole little rhyme popped immediately into my mind, ready made, begging to be aired! LOL 

Curiosity Cats can leave a whisker here...but not before noting, please, that I choose to have an award free, tag free, meme free blog. But by all means, talk to me by email - I love to 'chat'...
