Plenty of stark winter landscape here Jinksy - and plenty of snow trees. On Monday we drove to our feed merchant. The trees by the road side had ice crystals on them and the sun was shining through and making prisms. I tried to photograph but of course I had to do it into the sun and it didn't work, but it was a wondrous sight to behold. Keep warm.
Out here in the 'sticks' we certainly have been 'softened by snow', and I doubt there's much chance of us going anywhere for a few days. Still, we have time to appreciate the beauty of the snow trees hereabouts.
The snow does make everywhere look quite pretty but why has life come to a standstill? When I was a child, growing up in Yorkshire, we had snow every winter and I never missed a day of school and my father never had a day off work because of it.
For all the complaining I do about the cold and snow I must confess I love a snow storm and how the snow dresses the trees...they are absolutely breath taking to me.....:-) Hugs
although i love your sentiment here, my cynicism of snow in the city would be, to watch that blanket of white, for a day-maybe two if you are lucky, just to turn back to black...ugh! you make snow sound beautiful!
Perfection!!! Something very soft, peaceful and reflective about your cadence in this one...Love the opening stanza especially, "Stark Winter landscape,/suddenly softened by snow, /needs no make-over." I read and took a deep breath...felt a tranquility spread over my heart! Terrific, Jinks!!! Love you! Janine XO
Such a nice way of saying it!Today we had -28 passing thru towns on our way home.I could not breath.Had to pull my arm up .You can throw a cup of coffee into the air,and it will come down like snow.It is so wonderfull this world!
Of course, snowy covered landscape sounds lovely to me, as I sit here with the door open, looking at blue skies and listening to the birds that have flown here from points north.
Curiosity Cats can leave a whisker here...but not before noting, please, that I choose to have an award free, tag free, meme free blog. But by all means, talk to me by email - I love to 'chat'...
Snow Tress are quite beautiful.
