But with words on my mind as a subject, here's a selection of them, rearranged into a poem, this damp and dismal Sunday.
More Of The Same
All words are recycled.
They never wear out,but sometimes we wonder
what they are about.
The mind of the writer
always has its own view,
but it may not be what
those same words mean to you.
For experience alters
the links that we make
through our synaptic sparks,
and the routes that they take.
A brain's a computer
of unrivalled design,
for it keeps body running
as well as the mind...
And to round off the day, here's a Paint doodle that I called "Circuitry", for it reminded me of the convoluted way our minds make and store memories.
Sorry you are having a damp and dismal Sunday. I am sending you some sunshine from our little place in the mid west. I like the very first line about words being recycled. The best recycling project in the world.
ReplyDeleteYou captured my fascination with words so well and your doodle is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed very much the clever juxtaposition of words and your lovely "doodle."
ReplyDeletePoetry is everywhere it seems. I followed you to PIR also, and circled back thru your Word Verification poem.
ReplyDeleteI hope that all of this very cool stuff starts rubbing off on me!
Thanks.
jinksy i think it's raining all over the world today! words - they can create a good time or get in the way of it. no doubt there. steven
ReplyDeleteWe expect rain soon in Berkshire but for the present it's warm and bright.
ReplyDeleteThe world is a merry-go-round and words are victims as much as anything else.
Dear Pen,
ReplyDelete“You can't help respecting anybody who can spell TUESDAY, even if he doesn't spell it right; but spelling isn't everything. There are days when spelling Tuesday simply doesn't count.”
Words are wonderful, rainy Sundays can be, too (here in Hamburg it rained cats and dogs). I didn't even know that you doodeled! It looks fine!
Of course I love the word too, they never run out. I didn't know you 'doodled' too. Come and enter one at Creative Tuesday with Mr. Tea and Toast. For a change it is sunny in Ky.

Your design is very retro, Jinksy and I'm sure you could sell it somewhere! As for recycling words, it seems the only way!
ReplyDeleteWords words companions of the mind - yours are always worth reading Jinksy
ReplyDeleteWords and brains are amazing!! And writers.
ReplyDeleteI liked this a lot, reminds me of the development of my life, seeing some things differently as I age, but life just getting better and better.
Well, Ms. J, you did really good with those few words. I have no idea of what for sure they might be but there are some that would be hard for me to connect with the others. Computer, words, and recycled are examples.
ReplyDeleteThank you for reading my ditty. I do those when I don't have a lot of time to write.
..
We are off Tuesday for Quebec, Quebec City and Montreal. We will spend three nights in each city. That means my blogs will be quieter.
At the same time, our daughter and family have fled London (they now live there) and your weather. They went to Crete but will return Wednesday.
..
I am not sure to have understood everything, because my English is not very good. And poetry is subtle to unterdestand.
ReplyDeleteBut I like your spirit and your blog.
Best regards of Fine.
