Thanks to Hilary for chastising me! No Poem?! Am I slipping? No - I just thought the picture I painted was awful enough to make everyone shudder, without heaping verses upon their consciousness as well. So this morning I will rectify the situation, belatedly, and await Blogland's observations upon the following slightly pensive poem.
Hair Cut
Thinning hair assumes
a temporary order
as scissor blades cross.
Its pale strands drift down,
settle like falling snowflakes
on indoor carpet.
Little colour left
since age and life together
bestowed silver crown.
There it is. :) And nah, it wasn't meant to chastise... just a bit of a tease. :)
ReplyDeleteFirst stanza's a killer! Loved this one, Ms. Nipple Notes. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the poem ! Your hair looks nice on your blog. I am 70 and only have 20 or 30 grey hairs and I just love grey hair. But, none of the ladies on my Mothers side have any grey hairs to speak of. I should not have ended the sentence with a preposition.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great day.
Hugs~~~ Leslie
Well, I'm gray, and it's very, very short. It was thinning about ten years ago and I started using Mill Creek's Biotin Shampoo (available via Amazone) and the thinning stopped. For now. Sisterhood!
ReplyDeleteLaughing because of Bdogs' comment. Biotin, I've fed it to my horse (not in shampoo-form I might add) in order to strengthen her hooves, worked a treat and it also gave her a very shiny coat! LOL
ReplyDeleteTreatment from the inside out - if you know what I mean. I ordered it from http://www.paardendrogist.nl, it's called Biotine.
And a lovely poem again.
Lots of love, Carolina
That's poetry - taking a simple everyday something and making it spread out and out and out into the world as an image of LIFE
ReplyDeleteNow your post is complete and we have a poem to go along with the imagery.
ReplyDeleteOooh, love that!!
ReplyDeleteNice triple haiku.
ReplyDeleteI too wear the 'silver crown'! With pride.
ReplyDeleteIts pale strands drift down,
ReplyDeletesettle like falling snowflakes
on indoor carpet.
Loved it
Great poem. My hair is old but it refuses to turn silver or even grey.
ReplyDeleteYAY! A poem! I love it! And your hair is beautiful by the way! Oh and I left you an award over at my blog. i don't know if you got it already but too bad, LOL! you've got it again! jenni
