Island Of Dreams
I wonder what you would choose to have on yours, if you were cast away on a desert island? Only one luxury allowed. This was my latest Paint playtime, if you're wondering...
Now that's the sort of desert island I'd quite like - not too hot, plenty of greenery. I think Kay's second choice is a good one, but you'd have to organise electricity - hydro-electric power, wind power? I think my luxury would have to be an unending supply of soap - a special type of soap with moisturising cream in it to keep my skin from cracking and getting sore.
One luxury . . . . let me see . . . I know! One of those little red telephone kiosks that one used to see on every village green in the UK, to shelter in when it rained.
I'm sure sun block and face cream would be already there as necessities,Kay & Jabblog, but couldn't say the same about Antonio, Rallentanda- he'd be SOME luxury, and no mistake! :)
And Doc, do you want the 'phone box to be operational, or merely for accomodation?
Susupetal - internet is maybe OK, for the Paint programmes, but not too sure about Skype or emails- you might not get to desert island feeling at all! :)
Jinksy . . . maybe you and I are the only Fridge Dwellers ancient enough to understand this. I don't want a working phone kiosk. I'm too old to be going about pressing Button's A and B.
BTW . . . did you know that the design for those delightful red kiosks was by the architect Giles Gilbert Scott, grandson of George Gilbert Scott who was the architect for the St. Pancras Station Hotel and the Revival Gothic Fairy Palace of Glasgow University?
hmmm.....a mosquito net, so that i can rest up at nighttime to play all day long! p.s derrick you could just ferment coconuts and they smell and taste like malibu coconut rum liquer mmmmmm yummy! oh and p.p.s Antonio Banderas can share my mosquito net at night...if he wants....because I'm nice like that LOLOL xxme
Sweetmango - I think you'll be giving everyone ideas...Inebration calling? But you might have a fight on your hands with Rall over the Antonio Banderas question...
I love the paint . If you have ever seen a field of Texas bluebonnets (wildflowers) you would know why I really love the painting. Even the trees look a little loke Texas mesquites, considered a nuisance tree but the wood makes great charcoal!
Curiosity Cats can leave a whisker here...but not before noting, please, that I choose to have an award free, tag free, meme free blog. But by all means, talk to me by email - I love to 'chat'...
only one luxury.... shallow me, would choose a library! :) (if sunblock were not allowed as a necessary--- which it is)! :))
ReplyDeletegreat art work!
Oh! Take backs! Can I take a computer with unlimited internet access?

ReplyDeleteI'd like to have my laptop with me and the access to internet, skype etc. The laptop would be loaded with different kind of painting programs.
ReplyDeleteI really like your island!

But Doc, you might get your money back by pressing one of those buttons! I'm sure you'd like that!
ReplyDeleteLooks idyllic, Jinksy. As for my luxury, I think it'd have to be something alcoholic!!

ReplyDeletespecial request- unless there were a lack of animals and then I would be hard pressed to answer...
My Bass Guitar (but I don't know where I'd plug it in, and if I can't have my amplifier with it... Oh, heck, make it an acoustic!)
ReplyDeleteIzzy -
ReplyDeleteI'd count water as a basic, and I'm sure the Island would supply it!
Suldog -
Your Island sounds a lot more fun than some of the others...
nice painting. is there anything you can't do? a true renaissance woman. luxury? a guitar to idle away the hours strumming soft chords.
ReplyDeleteA boat.
ReplyDeleteGerry -
ReplyDeleteSee Suldog - Get an island close to his, and you could duet.
Carolina-
You have the best idea yet!

ReplyDeletePaper and pen.
ReplyDeletehmmmm..... I think I will be able to find food there on the island - so my one luxury would be unlimited supply of good red wine :)

ReplyDeleteBefore I even began to read your copy I thought "Whoa, that little girl looks like Queen Elizabeth. Fun post.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely little painting. I like to think of hanging it from my single palm tree (if the desert island is so equipped) to look at every day.
